Practicing healthy eating is one very important element in shaping a healthy society and can contribute to national productivity. Lack of food premises that offer healthy, clean, and safe food is one of the factors that prevent people to practise healthy eating.
General Objective:
- To improve the quality of food and healthy nutritional promotion in food premises through a Healthy Cafeteria evaluation system.
Special Objective:
- To improve knowledge and skills of cafeteria operators in the provision of healthy and safe food.
- To ensure the preparation of nutritious foods is based on the Dietary Guidelines and Recommended Nutrient Intake (RNI).
- To ensure the preparation of food, in the long run, is based on Food Hygiene Regulations
- To improve the availability of safe and healthy food choices to the public.
- To give recognition to food premises that meet the criteria of Healthy Cafeteria
- To encourage cafeteria operators in promoting safe and healthy food.
